FAQs

How Should I Prepare My Product Before Shipping It?

To ensure the best possible results in your final images, it’s important to send your product in clean, photo-ready condition. Here are a few tips to help:

  • Clean the product thoroughly - remove fingerprints, dust, stickers, and any blemishes.

  • Use protective packaging - wrap delicate or fragile items securely to avoid damage during transit.

  • Label clearly - if you’re sending multiple products, include a list or labels to identify each item.

  • Include any setup instructions - if your product requires assembly or has specific angles/features you'd like highlighted, feel free to include notes or reference photos.

  • Ship with care - use a reliable shipping service with tracking and consider insurance for valuable items.

The better the condition your product arrives in, the faster the editing process will be - and the better your photos will look. See examples here of what clean, photo-ready products look like compared to items in less-than-ideal condition. These examples will help you understand how product prep can impact editing time, image quality, and overall turnaround.

How Do I Send My Products To You?

If you're local to the Denver Metro Area, you have the option to:

  • Drop off the product directly at the shoot location, or

  • Meet with me at a predetermined location we’ll agree on beforehand.

If you're outside of Denver, Colorado, I’ll provide the shipping address once your shoot is officially booked.

For shipping, it’s strongly recommended that you:

  • Use a reputable delivery service

  • Include tracking and it is highly recommended to consider insurance, especially for high-value items

Please note: Clients are responsible for return shipping if they’d like their product sent back after the shoot.

Can I be involved in the creative direction?

Your vision is what brings the shoot to life. In the pre-planning stage, feel free to share any ideas, inspiration, mood boards, or reference images - the more, the better! This helps ensure we’re on the same page from the very start.

On shoot day(s), I encourage a quick phone call to review the scope of work and discuss any creative direction you’d like to provide in real time.

See something that doesn’t feel quite right? We’ll make adjustments until it looks just the way you envisioned.

How Much Does Editing Cost for Product Photography?

While overall project pricing is based on workload, editing is charged at a flat rate of $40 per hour.

The number of images that can be edited within an hour depends heavily on the condition of the product provided. Products that are clean, brand new, and free of blemishes require less retouching, allowing more images to be edited efficiently. In contrast, used or blemished products that need additional attention will reduce the number of images that can be processed within the same timeframe.

To help you prepare, see the examples here for guidance on the condition in which your product should be in before sending it in for photography.

What Is the Turnaround Time for Edited Photos?

Turnaround time varies depending on the number of images and the complexity of the edits. Below are general estimates:

  • Up to 10 photos: 5-7 business days

  • 11–20 photos: 7-10 business days

  • 21+ photos: Timeline will be provided based on project scope

If your project is time-sensitive, rush options may be available for an additional fee. Just let me know your deadline when filling out the form, and I’ll do my best to accommodate your timeline.

What Formats Do My Photos Get Delivered In?

Final images are typically delivered in the following formats:

  • High-Resolution JPEGs - ideal for web, print, and general use

  • Web-Optimized JPEGs - resized and compressed for fast loading online

  • TIFF files - available upon request for high-end print or retouching needs.

If you need your images in a specific format, size, or color profile (e.g. CMYK for print), just let me know when you book your project — I’m happy to accommodate.

How Long Do You Store My Files?

All RAW files, full-resolution JPEGs, and TIFFs are stored for up to 2 years from the date of your shoot. After that period, files may be permanently removed from storage and are no longer guaranteed to be available.

For long-term access, I recommend downloading and backing up your final files shortly after delivery. Google Drive, Dropbox, or external SSDs are all great options.

Are Reshoots Included?

Reshoots are not included by default. If a reshoot is required due to a creative misalignment or product issue, I’m happy to discuss a discounted reshoot rate depending on the circumstances. If the reshoot is due to an error on my end, it will be done at no additional charge.
